National Association for Stress-Free Schools Committees across Canada Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment offers Consciousness-based Education from pre-school to grade twelve. The Consciousness-Based Education Association (CBEA) is a non-profit, educational organization that provides practical, scientifically validated educational programs, technologies, and consulting services for new schools, existing schools, and after-school organizations. The Transcendental Meditation technique is the single most effective technique available for eliminating stress, promoting health, and increasing creativity and intelligence. More than 5 million people around the world, over 300,000 in Canada, have learned the TM technique and the number keeps growing. American University in Washington, D.C. is the site of a landmark two-year research and demonstration project on the effects of the Transcendental Meditation program on student health and development—intellectual, social, emotional, and academic. The study is being conducted by the AU Psychology Department—with 300 students participating in the study from American University, Georgetown University, George Washington University, the University of the District of Columbia, Howard University, and the Corcoran College of Art + Design.
